New Membership structure from January 2004

After a consultation with members during the latter part of 2003, it was decided to change the structure of membership to reflect changes within the DSA, the DSA's increased representation of members in terms of consultations with funding bodies such as HEFCE, ESRC and DFID as well as the new facilities such as the Research Guide and Course Guide.

The major change has been to do away with the system of nominated representatives for institutional membership and introduce a tiered membership fee depending on whether you wish your organisation to be listed on one, both or neither of the Guides.

How does it affect me?

It means for those institutions that either joined or renewed after January 2004, members of staff no longer qualify for individual membership but will need to take out individual subscriptions if they wish to participate in DSA events (such as the Annual Conference) and qualify for additional membership benefits (please see the main membership page for more details).

If you have any queries about this or are unsure of your current membership status, please contact us.
