A Special Edition of the Journal of International Development on Bridging Research and Policy is now available. For more details visit our Journals section

The AGM of the DSA will take place in the Assemby Hall, Church House at 1.15pm.  Please visit the AGM Page for documents to download.

There will be two plenary sessions, featuring speakers with experience across the research and policy spectrum. These are confirmed as:

  • Matthew Taylor (formerly Director of the Institute of Public Policy Research and now with the Prime Minister's policy team in Downing Street);
  • N C Saxena (well-known academic and former Secretary of the Planning Commission in the Government of India);
  • Masood Ahmed (Director General of DFID, formerly with World Bank and IMF and one of the key instigators of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers);
  • Maureen O'Neill (President of the International Development Research Centre, Canada)

The workshop sessions will be slightly different from parallel sessions at previous conferences. They will be policy-focused and will each have a panel of a development researcher, an NGO representative and a policy-maker. They might take the form of a short presentation by a researcher, followed by comments and discussion by other members of the panel. The focus could be on controversies or on on the state of thinking, policy and practice around certain issues. The intention is not to promulgate a 'DSA view' on any topic, but rather to provide a vehicle for people to explore the policy conclusions of their research.

The Workshop themes have now been confirmed and a full schedule can be downloaded here (Word document)
