MSc Africa and International Development
Centre of African Studies, University of Edinburgh
The MSc locates African development firmly in theory and practice through a range of courses that seek to contextualise and analyse the processes that have shaped poverty and underdevelopment in Africa. This will draw on international development experience elsewhere but the focus will be squarely on developing students’ in depth knowledge of African development. Alongside these theoretical and contextual courses we will deliver development-focused and practical experience through a new development methodology course and the option of students undertaking dissertation research in situ with development agencies based in Scotland and Africa.
The MSc in Africa and International Development is relevant to students from a wide range of professional and disciplinary backgrounds.
