New research postgraduates are recruited to areas of strong interest in the Centre to ensure that they are well served with guidance, materials and supervision in the field. Our philosophy is to create a lively and informed research community. The emphasis is on providing students with a good environment in which to study and to encourage and help with publishing their work. You will be joining a large group of students from many parts of the world - including Britain, China, Africa, The United States, Russia and South America, studying a wide variety of topics. As part of this environment we have a regular program of academic seminars from both visiting and internal speakers.

You will be expected to already have a Masters degree in an appropriate subject. If you do not have this, then we would encourage you to consider enrolling in one of our masters programs. Applications for research MPhil/PhD programmes are reviewed by the Director of Studies and possible Supervisor(s).
