Governance and Development Management (International)
International Development Department (IDD), University of Birmingham

Our Governance and Development Management (International) programme explores the long debate about the extent to which the State can act as an agent of development, between those who believe the public sector’s role should be reduced and those who assert that government has a critical role to play. You will examine: forms of governance and relations between state and non-state actors; key concepts in public sector management; practical tools for policy formulation; and implementation and problem-solving skills in development management.

A candidate’s work experience is also taken into consideration.
