International Child Health (MSc/PG Diploma/PG Certificate)
UCL Centre for International Health and Development, Institute of Child Health

Designed for health professionals and managers working in the area of international child health, the programme aims to equip participants with the skills, knowledge and principles to manage effective community-based programmes in developing countries and resource-poor conditions. Applicants come from a variety of backgrounds including nursing, midwifery, paediatrics, health management, policy making and NGO work.

This programme focuses on new thinking about how services for children can be provided at community level; critical analysis of existing theory, policy and practice in international maternal and child health; practical training in essential skills and approaches (including research and management approaches) that can enable professionals to contribute to teaching, research and/or policy developments in their area of international health.  The programme will also encourage personal reflection and growth among professionals who already have experience of working in their field.

The course content draws on well-established existing courses at CIHD as well as on the strong international consultancy experience of the Centre’s multidisciplinary staff.
