MA Education and Development
University of East Anglia: School of International Development

The MA Education and Development prepares students for employment in a range of areas, including educational policy, government departments, and national and international agencies. Some of our students continue to study for research degrees. The course provides an understanding of the current status of education and contemporary themes such as literacy and social development. It provides students with strong theoretical and empirical understandings of educational contexts and examines international and national policy and practice. This Masters degree is aimed at people with an interest in working in the field of education and international development. This includes people who have prior experience in educational settings, and those who are new to the topic. The MA combines teaching on education and development themes, with wider units related to development studies. The School of International Development has an active research community working on education and development, and strong links with the School of Education and Lifelong Learning (including collaboration in teaching and an active research seminar programme). The School of International Development at the University of East Anglia welcomes about 150 postgraduate students each year, to study for one-year taught Masters and Diploma degrees. With 36 teaching staff and a team of support staff, the School provides a friendly, supportive and international environment. Particular attention is given to supporting international students.
