MA in European Union and Development Studies
Centre for Development Studies (CDS)

The course combines the MA programmes in Development studies and European Union studies through sharing the two core modules of each MA, complemented with a wide range of options in both areas. Practical experience of how the EU interfaces with problems of international development, gained through a 8-12 week study placement, will form the basis of the dissertation.

Study placements will be centred around a small research project that is of explicit use to the hosting organisation, which is usually an NGO working on EU Development Policy and Practice based in Europe. Places are allotted according to availability and suitability of the candidates.
