MRes International Development
University of East Anglia: School of International Development

The School offers a one year MRes in research training in development studies. Designed either for those planning to proceed to a three year MPhil/PhD programme, or for those wishing to improve their research skills for application in the development field, this course complies with ESRC funding policy from 2001 onwards, aimed at increasing high quality research capacity in development. The Masters of research in International Development studies (MRes) received 1+3 recognition in the recent ESRC interim recognition exercise. This means that the MRes degree meets the formal ESRC requirements for research training in Area Studies and Development Studies at the masters' level. UK and EU applicants to MRes may apply to ESRC for PhD research under the 1+3 as well as +3 studentship programmes. For more information.

You will take course modules in research epistemology, and in research techniques and analysis, practising and applying learned techniques through workshop sessions. In addition, you will learn research skills in your chosen area of specialism: natural resources, social studies or economics.
