MSc / Diploma in Development Studies
Centre for Development Studies (CDS), University of Glasgow
This interdisciplinary programme is designed for:
1. those intending to pursue careers in teaching and/or research in the general field of development or the specialist areas offered as optional subjects;
2. government officials wishing to expand their knowledge of various aspects of development;
3. those working in this subject area in international agencies or in non-governmental organisations concerned with development.
The MSc programme comprises two core modules, four optional modules from a wide choice, a programme of research training and a dissertation.
The Diploma in Development Studies places less emphasis on research training than the MSc programme, but will, nonetheless, provide a thorough grounding in the policy issues and techniques of analysis in this area, and will be appropriate for a range of career options in the development field.
