MSc Sustainability (Environmental Politics & Policy)
At Leeds we offer a suite of sustainability masters programmes.
The Environment & Development programme provides interdisciplinary training on issues where the need for economic development and environmental conservation meet. The programme brings together expertise from the Schools of Earth and Environment and Politics and International Studies, and from the practitioner community, to provide a breadth of perspectives. The programme provides opportunities to gain practical experience in a developing country context during an African field course and/or dissertation research.
The Climate Change programme provides students with a solid foundation in the physical science of climate change, climate change impacts, adaptation to and mitigation of climate change, as well as in broader debates on sustainability.
The Environmental Politics and Policy programme, jointly run by the School of Earth and Environment and the School of Politics and International Studies, engages directly with political debates on sustainability, and provides students with a thorough understanding of the policy tools that can be used to promote environmental protection. The programme has been designed to equip students with both the conceptual and applied understanding of critical issues in politics and policy that can be used in all areas of government, business and campaigning with an interest in sustainability and environmental protection.
