BA/BSc Hons (deferred choice) International Development (L920)
University of East Anglia: School of International Development

This degree introduces contemporary issues in international development with a natural and social science perspective - enabling you to switch to a BA or BSc degree.

In each of the 3 years of study, students will select 120 credits of modules. In Years 2 and 3 the range of options and free choice modules will be greater.

In Year 1, you will student 4 compulsory modules:

 

  • Introduction to Development Studies
  • Key Skills for Development Studies
  • Data in Development Studies
  • Natural Resources and Environment for Development
You can also choose one other subject theme from the following 2 subjects:
  • Economics for Development
  • Social Analysis for Development: Sociology
In Year 2, you will continue with your chosen 2 main themes and can also study a choice of topical and regional courses. We also run a Dissertation and research skills workshop programme to help you prepare for the final year. At this point, you can select your BA or BSc option.

In Year 3, you will write a Dissertation (research project) on a development topic of personal interest, whilst studying further themed, topical and regional optional modules.

All candidates must hold 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Maths and English.
