Africa after 2005: From Promises to PolicyLinks and Follow UpOver 150 people, from a wide variety of organisations, attended the policy forum on 9th December 2005 to listen to Anna Tibaijuka and the three presentations from the Universities of Warwick, Bath and Oxford. Many of those who attended are in a position to effect change within their organisations, and we would like to hear what you are doing - there was not time for everyone to contribute but we hope that the day was the start of a process of sharing initiatives, resources, information and expertise. In terms of follow up, the DSA has set up a Bulletin Board. Please do post ideas, resources, initiatives underway or planned, that in your views fulfil the brief of implementing or working towards the promises set out during 2005. Whether you are an NGO carrying out an innovative project, a business person involved in opening up an enterprise in an African country, a member of the African Diaspora with suggestions of what is needed - we want to hear from you. The range of organisations represented at the meeting brought together a wealth of resources and links to their websites will be added to this page as items are posted to the Bulletin Board. Our aim is that this will become a key resource for those seeking information on what exactly is being done to ensure the Promises of 2005 are being translated into Policy and Practice.
