Forthcoming Event: Symposium - Promoting social inclusion in South Asia: policies, pitfalls and the analysis of welfare/insecurity regimes

Monday 13 September and Tuesday 14th September (morning)
Organised by the Centre for Development Studies, University of Bath 
Its purpose is to add to grounded, holistic and comparative understanding of diverse structures and processes underpinning social inclusion/exclusion and welfare/insecurity across the region.

Themes include:
1.  Social exclusion, adverse incorporation and labelling.
2.  Distribution and redistribution of land and non-land assets.
3.  Non-state actors, participation and collective action.
4.  Welfare and insecurity regimes.

Anticipated speakers include Venkatesh Athreya, Ipshita Basu, Pip Bevan, John Cameron, Joe Devine, Ian Gough, Arjan de Haan, Barbara Harriss-White, Shyamika Jayasundara, Paula Kantor, Santosh Mehrotra, Richard Palmer-Jones, V K Ramachandran, Ashwani Saith, Guy Standing, Madhura Swaminathan and Sarah White.
