Welcome to our new Council members

At the AGM at DSA2024 we said goodbye and thank you to Naila Kabeer and Ingrid Kvangraven, who have completed their terms on Council. As well as their official duties as Council members, we were grateful to have their wider experience and insights.

We are delighted to welcome in their place three new members:

  • Ibrahim Natil, Research Fellow at the Institute for International Conflict Resolution at Dublin City University;
  • Claire Mcloughlin, Associate Professor at the International Development Department, University of Birmingham;
  • Kamna Patel, Associate Professor, Bartlett DPU, UCL.

We will share profiles and interviews of our newest members soon.

Turning thought into action

Many of you will have heard about the Africa Charter at our webinar earlier this year. The DSA have recently signed the Charter, but we recognise this is one of many steps and we look forward to working with other stakeholders to drive change in decolonising development studies further. Look out for news stories on activities around this.
