Media engagement and other project news

Sameen Ali provided expert commentary on the Pakistan elections to both BBC and Sky News. She has also provided expert commentary to inform NPR’s reporting on the election. She was also an invited panellist on France24’s The Debate program on ‘Revolving door politics? Shadow of military looms over Pakistan elections’.

Sameen Ali chaired a panel of experts on the Pakistan election organised by the Political Studies Association Politics of South Asia study group. A recording can be viewed here.

Iffat Idris and Sian Herbert from the GSDRC were invited by Chemonics UK to present their research on AF-PAK borderland security at the Professional Development Conference of the FCDO Conflict Cadre in London.

PGR news

Congratulations to IDD PGR Mia Hyun who recently started a full-time role as Senior Regional Gender and Inclusive Development Advisor at USAID’s regional hub in Bangkok! Mia is providing technical advice and capacity building services to country missions across the Asia Pacific region to institutionalise gender and inclusive development across the programme cycle.
