Latest Bartlett Review article: Tackling Africa’s urban sanitation taboo
A large percentage of women and girls in African cities rely on public toilets in transport hubs and markets, or on communal toilets in the neighbourhoods where they live. The OVERDUE project, led by DPU’s Professor Adriana Allen is helping to understand and address long-term sanitation injustices across African cities. Read the article to learn more.

DPU’s Prof. Allen concludes her tenure as President of the Habitat International Coalition (HIC) after four years of impactful work in defence of human rights related to habitat and the right to the city.
