Could you represent students from your institute?
Are you great at sharing information with others? Do you have ideas for your peer group and want to connect with others? Could you be an institutional student rep? In addition to having two student representatives at Council level, all DSA institutional members are entitled to have a PGR / ECR institutional representatives to help bring the voices of their students to the DSA.
As an Institutional Rep, you will serve as the vital link between your university’s student community and the DSA, with roles including:
- External Communication: Share your institution’s activities, achievements, and opportunities for potential publication in the DSA monthly newsletter (Contact:
[email protected]). - Advocacy: Champion the interests and professional development needs of your institution’s PGRs and ECRs to the DSA (in partnership with the Council student representatives).
- Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate local professional development events, such as seminars or workshops, often in collaboration with DSA Study Groups. These activities may be eligible for DSA funding.
- Internal Communication: Keep your local PGRs and ECRs informed about relevant DSA Council activities and opportunities (e.g., PhD Masterclasses, Dissertation Prizes).
Get involved:
