The Forests for People Group (FPG) is a group of CIDT staff and associates with applied forestry and natural resources backgrounds. The Group works in the UK and internationally on practical, strategic and policy approaches to participatory forestry and natural resources management. The FPG provide research, training and consultancy in situations where community engagement is an increasing focus for forestry, natural resources management and watershed management. FPG members have qualifications in forestry, environmental sciences, and in social science. Two have forestry and anthropology degrees. All have worked 'hands on' with forestry operations and forest management in the UK and internationally. This combination of skills, experience and qualifications in natural and social science, give the FPG a strong track record of research and support that has practical relevance for foresters, community, business, NGO and government stakeholders.
